Queer Family Tree: Sierra

Sierra is featured in this episode of Queer Family Tree, Tay Barrett's 2018 mini documentary series about the many paths members of the gay and lesbian community take toward self-acceptance and self-love. Each installment centers on one person, and at about eight minutes, Sierra's is among the longest in the series, giving this story more room to unfold. The series keeps its approach personal and direct, allowing its subjects to describe their own experiences and the moments that shaped them. As each chapter adds a branch to the larger family tree, the collection becomes a portrait of a community built from individual voices, and Sierra's episode is a thoughtful part of that whole.
