Queer Family Tree: Ashley

Queer Family Tree is a mini documentary series from filmmaker Tay Barrett that introduces members of the gay and lesbian community one at a time, giving each the chance to share the personal road that led to accepting and loving themselves. This installment belongs to Ashley. In about three minutes, Ashley's story offers a snapshot of one life and one path toward self-acceptance, told in a direct, personal way. Like every entry in the 2018 series, it rests on a simple belief: that hearing someone describe their own experience honestly can make others feel less alone. Brief and sincere, this episode adds one more voice to a growing collection of personal histories.
