Girls' Voices Now 2025

2025TV-PG23 minCC

Every summer, Girls' Voices Now gives young Los Angeles women from communities that are too often overlooked the tools to make their own documentaries, teaching them the craft of filmmaking and encouraging them to tell stories about the subjects closest to them. This special presentation collects three short films from the program's 2025 season: Where Home Never Was, Words I Can't Forget and All You Need Is Less. Each is a personal piece shaped by young filmmakers learning to use the camera to say what matters to them, and together they offer a direct view of the world through the eyes of a new generation. The program comes from the nonprofit Women's Voices Now, and the collection features Sajida Silva, Lexi Silverstein, Ilima-Lei MacFarlane, Cassandra Brooksbank and Arielle Busby. At 23 minutes, it is a brief and engaging introduction to emerging documentary voices.
