Tigger!

James 'Tigger!' Ferguson is widely regarded as the king of the modern boylesque movement, the male side of the burlesque revival, and he describes himself as a Stripperformance Artist. A New York City performer, he has spent years blending striptease with theater, dance, comedy and a healthy dose of provocation. Iban del Campo's eleven-minute documentary portrait follows him on stage and off, capturing the craft behind the costumes, the wit behind the reveals and the personality that holds it all together. Part performance film and part character study, Tigger! is a lively introduction to a beloved downtown figure and to an art form that treats the body as both punchline and statement. Fans of nightlife, cabaret and the history of New York's performance scene will find plenty to enjoy in this colorful, affectionate short.
