Tiger
Taiga is thirty-five, gay, not out to his family and making his living as a masseur in Tokyo. When his father falls seriously ill, he returns to his hometown and steps into a bitter dispute: his sister wants him to give up his claim to the family property and threatens to reveal his sexuality if he refuses. As the conflict escalates and the line between right and wrong begins to blur, Taiga is pushed closer and closer to the edge, and forced to decide what he owes his family and what he owes himself. Directed by Anshul Chauhan, the film stars Takashi Kawaguchi, Maho Nonami and Yuya Endo, and runs just over two hours in Japanese. Tiger had its world premiere in the Vision – Asia section of the 2025 Busan International Film Festival, where it won the Hylife Vision Award, and went on to screen at the São Paulo International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of India.
