Three Distinct Impressions

Parker needs somewhere to sleep, and the easiest option is the one he should probably avoid: reaching out to Sydney, the woman he used to date. The trouble is that Parker's memory has a habit of skipping over anything inconvenient, so his version of their history and hers do not quite line up. When Sydney's new girlfriend, Rachita, gets involved, three very different accounts of the same past collide. Bijan Karim writes, directs and stars in this twelve-minute Canadian comedy-drama, with Jacqueline Welbers and Kellen Jackson completing the trio. Playful and character-driven, Three Distinct Impressions looks at how people edit their own stories and how badly those edits hold up when someone else remembers things differently. It is a wry little film about the space between what really happened and what we tell ourselves happened.
