The Gatecrasher

A small circle of young friends gathers for a late-night party, the kind of evening meant for music, drinks and the easy closeness of people who know one another well. When a mysterious transgender stranger joins them, the mood begins to change, and the night slowly unravels as prejudice, suspicion and hidden tensions among the guests come to the surface. Iranian director Siamak Kashefazar stages this fifteen-minute drama almost as a chamber piece, with Kimia Khalaj, Alireza Mirzamohammadali, Odin Roshan, Pourya Mohammadzade and Elham Salari among the ensemble, and the confined setting sharpens every glance and remark. The Gatecrasher places a transgender character at the center of its story and uses a single evening gone wrong to show how quickly a welcome can turn cold.
