Taste of Love

What does love taste like? Sweet, sour, bitter, perhaps even salty? Paul Scheufler's five-minute short takes that question literally, following a young woman on a sensual journey in which every encounter with love registers on her palate. Mirjam Hameter leads the cast, with Georg Rauber and Berenice Heichel, as the film moves through flavor after flavor toward a heightened, intoxicating climax, her senses fully awake to the many shapes love can take. Impressionistic and playful rather than plot-driven, Taste of Love is a miniature about appetite and openness, and about a woman who refuses to settle for a single flavor when so many are within reach. Its tight running time makes it a vivid, sensory interlude, more mood piece than story, that lingers like an aftertaste.
