Stories from the Shower

Young people today have more ways than ever to express who they are, yet few of them feel truly relaxed about their bodies. This Norwegian documentary by Teresia Fant steps into one of the most awkward and unavoidable parts of growing up: the school locker room and the shared shower after gym class. Through candid reflections from teenagers and scenes from these everyday spaces, the film explores the mix of embarrassment, self-consciousness and unexpected solidarity that comes with changing in front of classmates. Produced by Sarah Winge-Sørensen and Kristine Ann Skaret, the 26-minute film features young participants including Henning Andre, Nikolai Turøy Bakstad, Elene Barsten and Eli Johanne Schevik Berg. Honest and gentle, Stories from the Shower offers a thoughtful snapshot of adolescence and of the pressures young people feel about the way they look.
