Sleep on It

Two women in love want what so many couples take for granted: to be accepted by the world around them without having to explain themselves. At first they try to live their romance the conventional way, following the rules society seems to expect, but every attempt falls flat. Eventually they reach a simple conclusion: they are finished with hiding. Alex Sebastian Laibach's Canadian short, featuring Karine Picard, Andree Lortie, Antony Dominguez and Robert Verret, treats the subject as a light romantic comedy rather than a heavy drama, finding gentle humor in the effort to fit in and warmth in the decision to stop trying. Brief at about seven minutes, Sleep on It is a sweet little story about love, acceptance and the relief of finally living openly.
