Slashr

Still reeling from a breakup he never saw coming, a young man leaves the city behind for a cabin high in the mountains, hoping a little solitude will help him reset. Lonely in the quiet, he turns to a dating app, and the stranger he connects with turns out to be a ruthless killer who now knows exactly where to find him. Amir Moini's horror short takes the classic slasher setup of an isolated cabin and an unseen threat and gives it a contemporary twist, turning the hope of a new connection into a fight to survive the night. Nathan Mohebbi stars, with Lyle Troxell and Amanda Lehan-Canto. Slashr was an official selection of Screamfest LA, where it had its Los Angeles County premiere in 2023, and of FilmQuest the same year, and it was selected for the Portland Horror Film Festival in 2024. Tense and lean at twelve minutes, it is a sharp reminder to be careful who you invite in.
