Sis

Fran and Steph are sisters who have drifted far apart. Fran holds firmly to her religious faith; Steph is transgender, and the distance between them has hardened into a silence neither has known how to break. Dimitris Toulias's British short brings the two together for a single night with one condition: complete honesty, whatever it costs. As the hours pass, faith, old hurt, resentment and the stubborn bond of sisterhood all come into the open, and both women have to decide whether there is still a family worth saving. Rebecca Root, the British actress who starred in the BBC comedy Boy Meets Girl, plays Steph, with Maddy Myles as Fran. Compact and emotionally direct, Sis is a story about two people learning to see each other clearly, and about the courage it takes to tell the truth to someone you love.
