Petit Ami

Jasper is in his twenties and works as an escort, a job he handles with practiced detachment and very little feeling for the men who book him. His latest appointment brings him to a run-down motel to meet Vincent, an older client who gives almost nothing away. As far as Jasper is concerned, it is just another evening of work. Then he learns the secret Vincent has been carrying, and the encounter becomes something neither of them can treat as routine. Written and directed by Anthony Schatteman, this 13-minute Belgian short stars Ezra Fieremans and Thomas Ryckewaert. Quiet and closely observed, Petit Ami is a two-person drama about intimacy, loneliness and the defenses people build, and about what can happen when one of those walls unexpectedly gives way.
