Perro Perro
Juan is on vacation, far out in the wilderness, when he stumbles on a man who behaves exactly like a dog. Rather than run, Juan does what kind people do with a stray: he brings him in, washes him, feeds him and gives him the attention he seems to have gone without. As the days pass and the bond between the two men deepens, Juan's girlfriend grows uneasy and warns him not to get too attached. Argentine writer-director Marco Berger, whose earlier films include Plan B, Hawaii and The Blonde One, blends comedy and drama in a story that is equal parts strange and tender. Germán Flood and Juan Ramos lead the cast, with Bianca Brandimarte, Matías Quiroga and Aldana Dante. Perro Perro was an Official Selection at Frameline49 in San Francisco, BFI Flare in London and Chéries-Chéris in Paris, and it plays as an offbeat look at affection, instinct and the part of every person that refuses to stay tame.
