Mess
Andy is 22 and has just moved to New York City to chase his dream of acting when he learns he is HIV-positive. Suddenly the city he came to conquer feels very different, and Andy has to figure out how to live with the news while still paying the rent, going to auditions and getting through the day. He does not do it alone: his three best friends rally around him, even as each of them struggles to keep their own life in order. Written by and starring Paul Victor, who based the story partly on his own first months living with HIV, and directed by Jason Lee Courson, Mess features Jaime Cepero, Elle Estanol, Robbie Fowler and Ben Rimalower, with Billy Porter among its executive producers. Funny, frank and heartfelt, it looks at love, sex, friendship and stigma through the eyes of a young gay man determined not to let a diagnosis define him.
