Love You Tyler

Luke and Tyler are roommates, and everything seems normal until Luke starts telling Tyler about his new girlfriend. Her name, it turns out, is also Tyler — and she happens to have the same career as his roommate. As the coincidences pile up, the conversation becomes more and more awkward, forcing the two friends to face some delicate truths about their relationship. Written by Devon Diffenderfer, who co-directed with Ari Itkin, this nine-minute American short stars Diffenderfer as Luke and Ryan Pater as Tyler. Blending awkward comedy, romance and a few surprising twists, the film was made by alumni of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and shot in a single day. Light, clever and heartfelt, Love You Tyler is a story about friendship, honesty and how complicated love can be when the truth is sitting right across the room.
