I Can't Think Straight

Tala, the vivacious daughter of a wealthy Christian Palestinian family in Jordan, is in the middle of planning a lavish wedding when she meets Leyla in London. Leyla is shy, a British Indian Muslim woman quietly nurturing her ambitions as a writer, and the two hit it off at once. What starts as a friendship soon becomes something deeper, but while Leyla begins to imagine a life lived openly, Tala cannot yet bring herself to follow her heart. Directed by Shamim Sarif, who adapted the film with Kelly Moss from her own novel, I Can't Think Straight moves between London and the family drawing rooms of Amman as two women weigh love against the expectations of family, faith and tradition. Lisa Ray plays Tala and Sheetal Sheth plays Leyla, with Antonia Frering, Dalip Tahil and Amber Rose Revah. It is a warm, witty romantic drama about following your heart.
