HIM+

Chris thought he knew where his life was going until an unexpected turn forces him to face his fears, his faith and long-buried truths about who he is. Leaning on close friends and on mentors he never expected to find, he sets out on a path toward honesty, healing and a renewed sense of purpose. Directed by Creed Smith from a screenplay by Chazriq Clarke, this 2025 short drama follows a young Black gay man as he works through questions of spirituality, identity and belonging. Justin Banton leads a cast that includes Blake Dupree, Amefika El-Amin, Seven James and Bryshan White. Running just over half an hour, HIM+ is an earnest, hopeful story about community and self-acceptance, and about what can grow once you stop running from the truth.
