Hello, Stranger

Arthur (Arend Pinoy) is a single father doing his best to raise his seven-year-old son, Max (Tobias Giët). What Max does not know is that his father has another life on stage as a drag queen, one Arthur keeps carefully hidden. Balancing school runs and bedtimes with nights in the spotlight is wearing him thin, and the strain of keeping both worlds apart is starting to show. Written and directed by Belgian filmmaker Anthony Schatteman, this short drama in Dutch features Wim Opbrouck and Delfine Bafort in supporting roles and treats its subject with tenderness rather than spectacle. Hello, Stranger is a gentle story about fatherhood, identity and the courage it takes to let the people we love most see all of who we are.
