Follow Me

Jasper (Ezra Fieremans) is nineteen and has carried his feelings for his first love, Gerard (Maarten Ketels), for longer than he can stand. He finally resolves to tell him the truth, and then he has to live with whatever comes after. Directed by Anthony Schatteman from a screenplay by Stephen Dhondt, this 15-minute Belgian short in Dutch follows Jasper through that confession and its aftermath, a young man caught between hope, fear and an attachment he cannot shake. Lien Maes also appears. Moody and restrained, Follow Me is a portrait of first love at its most intense and unguarded, and of the risk that comes with saying out loud what you have kept to yourself for so long. It is featured on Here TV in The Gay Agenda 29.
