Depth

After years apart, two people meet again in secret. The reunion is meant to be simple, a single evening between old acquaintances, but feelings that were buried long ago begin to stir, and as the truth of what they once meant to each other comes into the open, a surprising revelation sends their story toward an ending that neither can predict. Written and directed by Ding Yuhan, Depth is a ten-minute Chinese drama-romance starring Zeng Huaiyi, Shang Guolong and Lu Meishan. Working with a small cast and a handful of charged scenes, the film is more interested in what goes unsaid than in what is spoken, letting glances and silences carry the weight of a shared history. It is a quiet, intimate short about hidden desire, and what rises to the surface once it can no longer be held down.
