Bowes Academy

Fifteen-year-old Daniel Bloom is a committed young conservative with his eye already fixed on the White House, and public high school is not part of his plan. His ticket out is Bowes Academy, an exclusive boarding school for boys that promises to mold tomorrow's leaders. Once he is through the gates, Daniel learns what makes Bowes so special: it quietly trains closeted gay young men for careers in right-wing politics, and the faculty seem to understand something about him that he has not yet admitted to himself. Written and directed by Greg Emetaz, this fifteen-minute satirical comedy features Joshua Gonzales, Shane Zeigler, Preston Maguire, Raf Liriano and Daniel Patrick Smith. With a deadpan, straight-faced style, it pokes fun at the distance between public image and private life, and at a young man discovering that the school he fought to enter knows him better than he knows himself.
