Every great cocktail has a story, and so does every bartender who makes one. Behind the Bar pulls up a stool where drinks are taken seriously and lets the people behind the counter do the talking. Across two seasons of half-hour episodes, the series profiles working mixologists, among them Lindsay Michelle Nader, Giovanni Love, Jason Littrell and Oliver Rockaway, drawing out the techniques, ingredients and rituals that turn an ordinary pour into something memorable. Recipes are shared, spirits are explained, and the tricks of the trade come out one glass at a time. Directed by Keren Aronoff with writing by William Clift, the show blends practical instruction with the personalities and after-hours culture of the bar world, making for a lively, welcoming tour of cocktail craft that is as much about the people as about what is in the glass.
