Be Gay Tomorrow
Thanksgiving is stressful enough for a struggling single mother of three without her own parents at the table. She has one goal for the evening: get through dinner without drama, which means keeping her teenage son Allen's sexuality hidden from grandparents whose disapproval comes wrapped in passive-aggressive politeness. Allen, however, has other ideas, and he is ready to tell them himself. What follows is a holiday meal that swings between warmth and open conflict, as a mother's protective instincts collide with a son's need to be seen for who he is. Written and directed by Joshua Kellerman and produced by Daniel Beltis, this thirteen-minute comedy-drama stars Allie McCulloch, with Josh Rosenzweig and Stephany Hitchcock. It is a funny, heartfelt look at family, acceptance and the difference between protecting someone and hiding them.
