Autoerotico

On a foggy night in a suburban park, two young men find their path crossed by a blonde woman who appears without warning, like a figure from a dream or a warning from somewhere else. Portuguese writer-director João Martinho builds this thirteen-minute short around atmosphere rather than explanation: damp air, low light and the charged quiet between people who meet where no one expects to be seen. Ana Cristina de Oliveira leads a cast that includes Pedro Antunes, Henrique Gil, Marina Albuquerque and Rui Henriques, and the film unfolds like a nocturne about desire, self-image and the strange shapes the imagination projects onto the dark. Produced by Justin Amorim, Autoerotico was selected for the 29th edition of the Caminhos do Cinema Português festival in Coimbra in 2023.
