A Particular Friend

On the rugged coast of Northern Ireland, a remote center for conversion therapy runs on prayer, discipline and the belief that desire can be corrected. Father Matthew, one of the priests who works there, has accepted that mission, until he discovers an intimate bond between two of his fellow priests, the very kind of closeness the institution exists to deny. Trying to do what he believes is right sets off consequences he cannot control, and the crisis that follows tests both his faith and his own heart. Written and directed by Eileen Tracey and produced by Jessica Palmarozza for Flumeri Films, this fifteen-minute drama was filmed at Ballintoy on the Antrim coast. Brian Milligan, Desmond Eastwood and Chris Robinson lead the cast in a quiet, restrained story about faith, silence and longing.
