A Different Time
Set in the American South of the 1960s, A Different Time is a love story shaped by the rules of its era. Three people find themselves caught in a situation none of them can easily escape, and the film shows how the expectations of the time determine the course of their lives and the choices they are allowed to make. Directed by Isabella Egizi from a script by Nick Greene and Joshua Wolf Coleman, who also star alongside Colleen Foy, this six-minute American drama tells its story with economy and restraint. In just a few minutes it captures the weight of secrecy and the cost of living under a status quo that leaves little room for love that does not fit the norm. A brief, poignant look back at a time when the freedom to love openly was out of reach for many, and at the people who paid the price for it.
