7+1 Fragments

Seven women, seven separate worlds, each one painted in its own color. Mehrad Sepahnia and Atefeh Kheirabadi, who wrote, directed and produced the film together, shape this German anthology short as a series of self-contained portraits, every segment with its own palette and its own emotional temperature. Luisa Mazeh, Matilde Flor, Anna Deborah and Mirjam Morlook lead the ensemble, and as the colors shift from one fragment to the next, the stories begin to echo one another, inviting viewers to look for the threads that tie them together. Running just over half an hour, 7+1 Fragments is a visual, mood-driven piece about women finding their place in the worlds they inhabit, and its title promises one fragment more than the seven it counts.
